[TEXT ON SCREEN: Celebrating the Bond: TIM’S STORY PART II: The Wait Is Over
TEXT ON SCREEN: This is the second of four videos chronicling Tim Beighley’s heroic journey, as a Canine Assistants service dog forever changed his life for the better.
TIM’S MOM: The day has been a lot of fun. We rolled in this morning and first heard some lectures. It is all about the dog and the person and their bond and their relationship, and not so much about telling them what to do.
TIM: When they told me I was up next, I felt extremely excited.
CANINE ASSISTANTS EMPLOYEE: Hey, this is Trouble.
TIM: I went into the room, and the dog was a little bit off, I think, because of the weather. The whole time he was looking around and searching for something. So they’re going to do it again tomorrow and see how things go.
CANINE ASSISTANTS EMPLOYEE: Good morning, you ready?
CANINE ASSISTANTS EMPLOYEE: Okay, turn around. We’re going to bring Trouble out to you.
TIM: Coming in, I thought maybe it’s going to be a match. When I felt like it wasn’t going to be a match, then it was kind of like, “Okay, now what?”
TIM’S MOM: It just kind of made my heart drop. You’re looking for the smiles and the joy just to come busting out, and I was not seeing that. And then, when they brought Ringer in, it was like it was instantaneous almost.
TIM: Hey, Ringer. Hey, Ringer. He visited everybody in the room, and he decided on me and came to me and did not want to leave my side.
TIM’S MOM: And Tim’s face, everything was there. He just lit up. I mean, you knew. You just knew that was it.
TIM: Puts his two paws up here and gets right up in my face, and I could definitely feel I think Ringer’s it.
